Ep 1. Defense and First Battle

Kaede Honjou is a high school girl who has never played video games before. She is convinced to try out a new virtual reality game called "New World Online" by her friend, Risa Shiromine. Kaede decides to create her character based solely on the advice of Risa, which leads to her creating a character named Maple who has all of her ability points in defense.

As Maple begins her journey in the game, she quickly learns that her defense is virtually impenetrable. However, she lacks any real offensive capabilities, which makes it difficult for her to take down even the weakest enemies. Despite this, Maple is determined to make progress in the game and begins to explore the world of "New World Online".

During her exploration, Maple stumbles upon a hidden dungeon and decides to check it out. She quickly realizes that the enemies inside the dungeon are much stronger than anything she has faced before. In an effort to survive, Maple relies solely on her defense and manages to fend off the enemies with ease.

Following her successful dungeon crawl, Maple returns to the hub town where she meets a player named Sally. Sally is impressed by Maple's high defense and decides to team up with her. Together, they continue to explore the game world and complete quests.

As they progress, Maple and Sally encounter other players who are participating in a special event where they have to capture "bases" throughout the game world. Despite their lack of experience, Maple and Sally decide to participate in the event.

In the first battle of the event, Maple and Sally have to defend a base from other players. Using her high defense, Maple is able to hold off the enemy players while Sally acts as their primary attacker. Together, they manage to successfully defend the base and earn valuable experience points.

With their first victory under their belt, Maple and Sally continue to participate in the event, encountering new challenges and making new friends along the way. Despite being inexperienced, they quickly become a force to be reckoned with in the world of "New World Online".
