Bob's Burgers Season 1 Episode 7, "Bed & Breakfast," opens with the Belcher family struggling to make ends meet. Their burger restaurant isn't doing as well as they had hoped, and Bob's inability to market his burgers is hurting their income. To make some extra money, the family decides to turn their home into a bed and breakfast for the weekend, hoping to attract guests for the Fall Festival.
As they prepare for their guests, the family members are each assigned various responsibilities. Bob is in charge of cooking breakfast while Linda prepares the rooms. Tina is tasked with greeting the guests, Gene entertains visitors with his music, and Louise is a jack-of-all-trades. However, things start to go awry when their first guest arrives.
The first guest, a wealthy older woman named Mrs. Schnurbaum (voiced by Megan Mullally), is far from pleased with the accommodations. She complains about everything from the bed to the decor, and the Belchers quickly realize that they might be in over their heads with this new venture.
As more guests arrive, things get increasingly chaotic. One couple has an unsettling interest in taxidermy, while another guest seems to be more interested in breaking things than enjoying her stay. Meanwhile, Bob is struggling in the kitchen, trying and failing to make pancakes to Mrs. Schnurbaum's liking.
Throughout the episode, the family members each deal with their own mini-dramas. Gene is frustrated that no one is paying attention to his music, Louise is forced to contend with a particularly troublesome guest, and Tina struggles with her awkward first encounter with a boy she's interested in.
Through all of the chaos, the Belchers are determined to make their bed and breakfast a success. They come up with creative solutions to the many problems they face, from using Linda's vast store of wigs to cater to guests' every whim to Linda's endearing corn maze venture.
Ultimately, the family's hard work pays off. They're able to successfully run the bed and breakfast for the weekend, earning enough money to help keep the restaurant afloat. The experience also brings them closer together as a family, serving as yet another reminder of the power of their bond.
In "Bed & Breakfast," we see the Belchers at their best - working together to overcome obstacles, sticking together through difficult times, and ultimately succeeding in their new venture. It's an episode that's both funny and heartwarming, a testament to the strength of family ties and the power of perseverance.
