Bob's Burgers Season 1 Episode 4 "Sexy Dance Fighting" revolves around the Belcher family's restaurant, where Bob's wife Linda decides to add entertainment to attract more customers. She hires a professional dancer named Derek Demondeaux, who organizes “classes” in the Burger of the Day storefront. But the family's eldest daughter, Tina, is not excited about it. She decides to join the class anyways because she has a crush on Derek.
The episode starts with a girl, Jodi, in Derek's dance class who informs everyone about an upcoming dance competition. The prize money is $1000, and Derek is keen to participate in the contest. Jodi tells the class that they do not have a partner. In response, many people shy away from the competition idea, except Tina, who takes the opportunity to be Derek's partner. Jodi, who has secretly liked Derek for a long time, becomes jealous of Tina and her dance with him.
Bob worries about the impact of the dance classes on their restaurant. Due to the limited space, the classes are cutting into their small dining space. He goes to the next door bar, King's Head Pub, to seek the help of his friend Warren. Warren is less concerned with his friend's problem and more interested in making a bet with Bob on the dance competition. Warren believes that his dance partner, Choo Choo, has a better chance of winning than Derek and Tina. Bob accepts the wager because he wants to win money to cover the costs of Linda's idea.
Back at the class, Jodi sabotages Tina by infecting her with lice from her borrowed comb. When Tina worries about the lice, Derek offers to be her partner in the contest. The idea excites Tina, who has been dreaming of dancing with Derek.
The next scene is the dance competition where Warren, Bob, and Linda are in the audience to cheer on their teams. The competition reveals that Tina has an incredible talent for dance. She amazes the judges and onlookers with her moves, and Derek and Tina take home the trophy. Warren and Bob congratulate each other and tease each other until they wager another bet.
Later, at the restaurant, Linda is happy with the results of the dance contest. The family is proud of Tina and the newfound recognition that the classes bring to the restaurant. Meanwhile, Derek goes for a drink at the King's Head Pub and meets Jodi there. Jodi is sad, and he tries to console her, even giving her a free dance lesson. This leads to a conflict between Linda, the dancer, and Bob, who is convinced that Derek is trying to steal his wife.
In the end, Linda reveals the truth to Bob about her relationship with Derek. She tells him that they are just friends and nothing more than dance partners. Bob realizes how wrong he was and later seeks to make amends with Derek, who accepts the apology on the condition that he wants to teach Louise, the youngest Belcher daughter, to dance.
Overall, episode 4, "Sexy Dance Fighting," is a light-hearted and fun-filled episode that takes a comedic approach to dance competitions and restaurant woes. The plot revolves around family dynamics and relationships while providing ample opportunities for humor and moments of laughter.
