Bobby's World season 1 episode 6, titled "Me and Roger", follows the adventures of the titular character Bobby as he interacts with his imaginary friend Roger. The episode begins with Bobby running into the living room to play with Roger, only to find that his mother has other plans. She insists that Bobby come outside and get some exercise, much to Bobby's dismay.
As Bobby begrudgingly begins to play catch with his dad, he starts to daydream about playing with Roger instead. In his daydream, Bobby imagines that he and Roger are playing a game of "Space Pirates" and successfully defeat a group of enemy ships. However, Bobby's daydream is interrupted when he accidentally throws the ball over the fence and into the neighbor's yard.
Bobby's dad goes over to retrieve the ball, but soon gets into an argument with the neighbor over who is responsible for the damage to their fence. In the midst of the argument, Roger appears and suggests that Bobby and his dad could fix the fence themselves, rather than arguing with the neighbor.
Bobby's dad is initially skeptical of the idea, but eventually agrees to try to fix the fence together with Bobby. As they work, Bobby starts to feel closer to his dad and even imagines that they are working together to build a "fortress of freedom" to protect their yard.
Despite their best efforts, however, Bobby and his dad are ultimately unable to fix the fence. Just when it seems like they will have to accept defeat, Roger appears once again with a brilliant idea. He suggests that they use the leftover wood and nails to build a birdhouse instead.
Bobby and his dad are initially hesitant, but ultimately decide to give it a try. As they work on the birdhouse together, Bobby starts to appreciate the time he is spending with his dad and even learns a few carpentry skills. When they are finished, Bobby is proud of the birdhouse they have built and excited to show it off to his mom.
Overall, "Me and Roger" is a heartwarming episode of Bobby's World that showcases the importance of family bonding and problem-solving skills. Through his interactions with Roger and his dad, Bobby learns that sometimes it is better to work together with others to tackle a problem, rather than arguing or giving up. The episode is sure to be a favorite among younger viewers who can relate to Bobby's adventures and imaginary friend, while also imparting important lessons about communication and cooperation.
