Bluey is an Australian animated television series for children, created by Joe Brumm. The show follows the adventures of Bluey, a six-year-old Blue Heeler dog, who lives with her family in the Australian suburb of Brisbane. In season 1, episode 18, titled "The Doctor," Bluey and her family visit the doctor's office for a check-up.
The episode begins with Bluey and Bingo playing "doctor" with their dad, Bandit. They pretend that Bandit is sick and they need to check his heartbeat, temperature, and blood pressure. Bandit plays along with the game until he receives a real phone call from the doctor's office, reminding him of the family's appointment that afternoon.
Later that day, the family arrives at the doctor's office, where they meet Dr. Bingo - a female doctor who shares the same name as Bluey's sister. The doctor greets Bluey and Bingo, and they all sit down to wait for their turn. Bluey is nervous about the check-up, but her dad reassures her that everything will be okay.
When it's Bluey's turn, the doctor asks her some questions about her health and checks her heartbeat, reflexes, and ears. Bluey is reluctant to let the doctor look in her ears, but Dr. Bingo explains that it's important to check them to make sure she's healthy. The doctor then gives Bluey a sticker as a reward for being brave during the examination.
Next, it's Bingo's turn for the check-up. The doctor asks Bingo questions about her health and checks her heartbeat and reflexes. Bingo is excited to show the doctor that she can touch her toes, but she accidentally falls over and hurts her wrist. Dr. Bingo checks Bingo's wrist and determines that she has a sprain. She gives Bingo a bandage and tells her to rest her wrist for a few days.
After the check-up, the family goes to a nearby park to play. Bluey and Bingo are playing on the monkey bars when Bingo falls and hurts her wrist again. This time, she's in a lot of pain and can't move her wrist. The family decides to take Bingo to the hospital to get her wrist checked out.
At the hospital, the family meets a friendly nurse who puts Bingo's wrist in a cast. While they wait for the doctor to come and give them more information, Bluey and Bingo watch a puppet show put on by a hospital volunteer. The puppet show tells the story of a brave pirate who overcomes his fear of needles when he needs a shot at the hospital. The puppet show inspires Bluey to be brave like the pirate and not be afraid of shots.
Finally, the doctor comes to check on Bingo's wrist and tells the family that it's just a minor sprain and should heal in a few weeks. The family leaves the hospital, grateful that Bingo is okay and feeling proud of her for being brave during the check-up and at the hospital.
Overall, "The Doctor" is a heartwarming episode that teaches children the importance of going to the doctor for regular check-ups and being brave when receiving medical care. The show also emphasizes the importance of family support during times of illness or injury and encourages children to overcome their fears by facing them head-on.
