Ep 2. Strange Bedfellows

Rin and his friends are forced to make some unlikely alliances in the second episode of Blue Exorcist's second season, "Strange Bedfellows." After learning that the true identity of the Impure King is a demon lord known as "The Gremory," the Exorcists begin to plan their attack. However, their efforts are complicated by the fact that the Gremory is protected by a powerful force field that renders him invulnerable to physical attacks. In order to have any chance of defeating him, the Exorcists will need to find a way to penetrate the barrier.

Enter the Illuminati - as the Exorcists begin to explore their options, they receive an unexpected message from the mysterious organization, offering to assist them in their fight against the Gremory. Although the Illuminati typically works against the interests of the Exorcists, it seems that they have their own reasons for wanting to take down the demon lord. Rin and his friends are hesitant to trust the Illuminati, but with their backs against the wall, they decide to accept the offer and form an uneasy alliance.

With the help of the Illuminati, the Exorcists are able to uncover a weakness in the Gremory's force field - a hidden seam that can be exploited if attacked from the right angle. Armed with this knowledge, Rin, Yukio, and the rest of the Exorcists prepare to launch a surprise attack on the Gremory's stronghold. As they make their way through the demon-infested hallways, they come face to face with some familiar faces - namely, some of Rin's old classmates from True Cross Academy.

It turns out that Rin's former classmates, who had previously looked down on him for being a half-demon, have been working with the Gremory this whole time. Seeing Rin and the other Exorcists as their enemies, they engage in a fierce battle that puts the team's plans in jeopardy. Rin is forced to confront his own conflicted feelings about his identity as a demon, as well as his desire to protect his friends and allies at all costs.

Ultimately, the Exorcists are able to prevail against their enemies, using their combined strengths and expertise to overcome the Gremory's force field and deal a devastating blow to the demon lord. However, the victory comes at a heavy cost - both in terms of physical damage and emotional fallout. As Rin and his friends return to their base to regroup and recover, they are left to ponder the consequences of their actions and the uncertain future that lies ahead.
