Rin Okumura and his classmates at True Cross Academy have been training hard to become exorcists. Rin's special ability as a demon-human hybrid made him a target for his fellow exorcists, but he's proven himself time and time again in combat. In episode 12 of Blue Exorcist, titled "A Game of Tag," Rin is selected to participate in a special training exercise - a game of tag, where he must avoid being tagged by the powerful exorcist Amaimon.
The episode begins with Rin and his friends excitedly preparing for the game of tag. Amaimon has a reputation for being a strong and cunning exorcist, and the students are eager to prove themselves against him. Rin is confident in his abilities, even though he knows he'll be at a disadvantage against Amaimon's earth-based powers. Before the game starts, the exorcists are divided into two teams, with Rin and Amaimon as the team leaders.
As the game begins, Rin quickly finds himself on the defensive. Amaimon is able to trap him with his earth magic and seems determined to tag him out. Rin's friends do their best to help him, but they're quickly taken out of the game by Amaimon's powerful attacks. Rin manages to hold his ground for a while, but he eventually has to resort to unleashing his demon powers to avoid being tagged.
The use of his demon powers brings Rin unwanted attention, however. His classmates start to see him as more of a threat and worry that he'll lose control of his demonic side. Rin's brother Yukio, who also serves as his teacher at True Cross Academy, is particularly concerned. He fears that Rin's power could lead to disaster if he doesn't learn to control it.
As the game of tag continues, Rin realizes that he can't win alone. He calls on his friends for help, and they work together to come up with a plan to take down Amaimon. They manage to catch him off guard and tag him out, much to everyone's amazement.
Despite the triumph, Rin's use of his demon powers has serious repercussions. He's forced to face the fact that he may be more of a danger than he realizes, and he worries that he won't be able to control his abilities in the future. Rin's friends and family try to reassure him, but he remains uneasy.
Overall, "A Game of Tag" is an exciting episode of Blue Exorcist that showcases the strengths and weaknesses of Rin and his friends. The intense combat scenes and creative strategy make for an engaging watch, while the underlying theme of Rin's internal struggle adds depth to the story. Fans of the series will enjoy the episode's blend of action and emotion.
