In episode 2 of season 9 of "Blue Bloods" titled "Meet the New Boss", the Reagan family is dealing with the aftermath of Frank's decision to step down as police commissioner. While Frank is enjoying his newfound freedom, his replacement, Dino Arbogast (played by John Cullum), is settling into his new role and trying to earn the respect of the NYPD.
As the episode opens, we see Dino struggling to fit in with his new colleagues. He's a bit out of touch with the latest technology and police procedures, and the other officers are having a hard time taking him seriously. Frank, however, is convinced that Dino is the right man for the job and urges his family to support him.
Meanwhile, Danny is investigating a string of burglaries in the neighborhood and is assigned a new partner, Maria Baez (played by Marisa Ramirez). Although Danny is initially skeptical of Baez, the two quickly warm up to each other and start working together seamlessly. They track down a suspect and are able to recover all of the stolen goods, much to the relief of the victims.
Jamie, on the other hand, is dealing with a different kind of problem at work. He's been assigned to train a group of new police officers and is finding it difficult to connect with them. The rookies are young and inexperienced, and Jamie feels like he's not making a difference. However, when one of the trainees makes a mistake on the job, Jamie is able to step in and save the day, proving to himself and the others that he's still a valuable member of the force.
Elsewhere, Erin is preparing for her first big case as a prosecutor, and she's feeling the pressure. The defendant is a high-profile businessman accused of embezzling millions of dollars from his company, and Erin knows that all eyes will be on her in the courtroom. She works tirelessly to build her case and is ultimately successful in securing a conviction.
Throughout the episode, we see the Reagan family rallying around each other and supporting one another through the various challenges they face. As always, they come out on top and prove that they are a force to be reckoned with. "Meet the New Boss" is a classic "Blue Bloods" episode, full of drama, action, and heartwarming family moments.
