Ep 22. The Thin Blue Line

Frank's team is in a frenzy as the NYPD headquarters is getting ready for a visit from the Attorney General. The Mayor instructs Erin to take the stand in a murder case will only add fuel to the growing fire against the police department. The case is a clear break for the department amidst the recent hostility between the cops and the public.

The case at hand involves a young black man who was beaten to death by a group of white supremacist ex-cons who were part of the prison system's work release program. The victim's mother, Shaundra, is fiercely demanding justice for her son. Simultaneously, the Mayor is trying to avoid potential protests over the trial by asking the judge to make everything transparent and rule in favor of the prosecution.

Jamie's mayoral candidate friend is furious with him when he schedules a ride-along with her while she is campaigning. The D.A's top aide arrives to speak to Frank about the current scenario, laying out several hard-hitting questions that demand his attention. However, Frank has an ace up his sleeve, which may assist him in anticipating the A.G's questions and prepare answers. There is a surprise video that proves the accused men had been trying to shake Danny's hand after he apprehended them on another charge.

On the other hand, the news has aired a story about a man who was choked to death by the police, and the entire department is in turmoil because someone has shared confidential information with the media. While Danny and Baez are hunting for the perpetrator, Baez starts to feel that Frank is prying into her life more than necessary, and Danny uncovers a few shocking things about his family's roots while searching for the truth.

Also, Jamie and Eddie put a stop to a repossession in a complicated case involving fraud and counterfeiting ring. They discuss their future and what they need to do to keep their partnership moving forward in their relationship.

As the trial approaches, the tension rises, friendships and loyalty are put to the test, and each family member comes to terms with their roles in the force, their life priorities, and their motivations behind the badge.
