Frank Reagan is in a difficult position when a close friend from his past arrives in New York to attend a wedding. The friend is a former cop, who ended up on the wrong side of the law and served time in prison. Now, he's turned his life around and wants to rebuild his relationship with Frank. However, Frank is torn between his loyalty to his friend and his duty as a police commissioner.
Meanwhile, Danny Reagan and Baez investigate a case involving a wealthy woman who was found dead in her home. The woman's husband is the prime suspect, but Danny and Baez uncover some shocking evidence that suggests someone else may have been involved.
Elsewhere, Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko are faced with a difficult decision when a young woman asks for their help. The woman is pregnant and was recently fired from her job in a daycare center. She believes she was fired unjustly and wants Jamie and Eddie to help her get her job back. However, the situation is more complicated than they originally thought, and Jamie and Eddie have to decide how much risk they're willing to take to help someone in need.
In addition, Erin Reagan and Anthony Abetemarco work together to prosecute a man who has been accused of causing a deadly accident while driving under the influence. The case is a challenge, as the defendant is a well-respected member of the community and has a lot of support. Erin and Anthony have to be careful to build a strong case and convince the jury that the man is guilty.
Throughout the episode, the Reagan family deals with personal and professional challenges and continues to support each other through thick and thin. The episode ends with the Reagan family coming together to celebrate a happy occasion and reflect on the importance of loyalty, justice, and family.
