The Real Deal is the first episode of season 10 of the popular American police procedural drama Blue Bloods. This episode was directed by Robert Harmon and written by Kevin Riley.
The episode picks up from where season 9 left off, with the Reagans gathering together to celebrate the retirement of Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (played by Tom Selleck) after 10 years of dedicated service. However, things take an interesting turn when Mayor Chase (played by Dylan Walsh) approaches Frank with a proposal for him to remain in his role as commissioner for another term. Although Frank is hesitant to accept the offer, he ultimately agrees after the mayor promises to support his initiatives and push for necessary budget increases.
Meanwhile, Frank's son Danny (played by Donnie Wahlberg) is investigating the murder of a high-end art dealer. His investigation takes a bizarre turn when he discovers that the victim's art gallery was being used as a front for a drug smuggling operation. Despite facing resistance from the new drug kingpin in town, Danny is determined to bring the killer to justice.
Danny's sister Erin (played by Bridget Moynahan) is also facing her own set of challenges as the newly appointed district attorney. She finds herself at odds with her boss, who wants her to take on a controversial case that involves a police officer accused of using excessive force. Erin is torn between her loyalty to the police department and her oath to uphold the law.
Elsewhere, Jamie (played by Will Estes) and his partner are investigating a series of robberies involving elderly couples. Their investigation takes a surprising turn when they realize that the robberies may be linked to a movie being filmed in the area. As Jamie and his partner race against time to catch the culprits, they must also navigate the tricky waters of navigating a movie set.
In addition to these storylines, The Real Deal also explores the personal lives of the Reagan family members. Frank's son Jamie struggles to balance his work life with his impending marriage to his fiancée, while his daughter Nicky (played by Sami Gayle) faces her own set of challenges as a college student.
The Real Deal is a gripping and well-crafted episode that sets the tone for the rest of the season. With its interesting storylines, strong character development, and excellent performances from the cast, this episode is sure to keep fans of the show on the edge of their seats. Whether you're a fan of the Reagan family or just looking for a well-crafted police procedural, The Real Deal is an episode that shouldn't be missed.
