The group of hackers, called "The Collective," believe that society is broken and needs to be dismantled. They have a particular set of grievances against people who work in the tech industry and have created a manifesto called "Cede Your Soul" that outlines their beliefs. The FBI team struggles to make headway in the case because The Collective uses advanced encryption methods to communicate and cover their tracks.

As the team investigates The Collective, Jane Doe is dealing with her own personal crisis. She is haunted by memories of her past and is struggling to come to terms with her true identity. Meanwhile, her relationship with Agent Kurt Weller continues to be strained, as she tries to understand the truth about her past and how she ended up with no memory.

As they uncover more information about The Collective, the FBI team begins to realize that the group is planning a major attack. They believe that the group is preparing to release a computer virus that will completely shut down the internet, leading to chaos and destruction on a massive scale. The team works tirelessly to try and track down the hackers before they can launch their attack, but The Collective always seems to be one step ahead.

With time running out, the team makes a bold move and infiltrates a meeting of The Collective. They manage to apprehend several members of the group and get closer to stopping the attack. However, things take a turn for the worse when one of the FBI agents is captured by The Collective.

In the final moments of the episode, the team must race against time to rescue their fellow agent and stop The Collective from carrying out their attack. Jane Doe confronts the group's leader, and in the fray that follows, she finally begins to unlock some of the secrets of her own past. As the episode ends, the FBI team is left wondering what other secrets may be hidden in Jane's tattoos and what other threats may be lurking just around the corner.
