In Black-ish season 3 episode 21, titled "All Groan Up," the Johnson family deals with the challenges and triumphs of growing up and moving forward.
Dre, the patriarch of the family, is struggling with getting older and feeling like he hasn't accomplished enough in his life. He wants to be remembered for making a difference in the world, but he's not sure how to do that. Meanwhile, his wife Bow is feeling the pressure of her job, which involves a lot of travel, and worries about missing important moments with her children.
The episode also focuses on the Johnson children. Junior, the eldest son, is grappling with his sexuality and whether or not he's ready to come out to his family. Zoey, the oldest daughter, is embarking on her college journey and trying to balance her social life with her studies. And the younger children, Jack and Diane, are dealing with the challenges of growing up and finding their own identities.
All of these storylines come together in a heartwarming and at times hilarious episode that explores the ups and downs of growing up. As the Johnson family navigates the challenges of adulthood, they come to realize that no matter what happens, they will always be there for each other.
