Please Don't Ask, Please Don't Tell is the twenty-second episode of the first season of Black-ish. This American sitcom follows the Johnson family, an upper-middle-class African-American family living in California, as they navigate their personal and cultural differences.

In this episode, Dre and Bow discover that their youngest son, Jack, has been hiding things from them. After some investigating, they discover that Jack has been attending a private school called the Christian Academy. This news surprises them, and they have to figure out why their son has kept it a secret from them.

To get to the bottom of the issue, Dre and Bow speak with Jack's teacher and learn that the school is very conservative, with strict rules regarding behavior and dress code. The school has a zero-tolerance policy on gossip and encourages students to "pray the gay away." Dre and Bow are stunned and worried about the well-being of their son.

Meanwhile, Rainbow's sister, Santamonica, comes to visit for the weekend. She's a world traveler and has a different perspective on life than the more conservative Bow. Santamonica is a carefree spirit who believes in living life to the fullest, and her presence in the Johnson household causes tension between her and Bow.

At the same time, Dre and Bow's other son, Junior, is beginning to question his own sexuality. He's interested in fashion and describes himself as "metrosexual." Bow's brother, Johan, encourages Junior to be himself and embrace who he is. At the same time, Dre struggles with accepting Junior's identity, fearing that he won't be accepted by his peers or family.

The episode tackles issues around school culture, religion, sexuality, and acceptance, all while maintaining a lighthearted tone. It's a relatable episode that deals with the challenges of raising children in a modern, diverse world.

Ultimately, Dre and Bow have to confront their own prejudices and biases to accept their children for who they are. As the episode concludes, the family agrees to be more open-minded, and Junior embraces his identity, wearing a bright pink shirt to school.

Please Don't Ask, Please Don't Tell is an emotional and thought-provoking episode of Black-ish that tackles important themes with humor and heart. Fans of the show will appreciate the way it explores complex issues in a relatable way, while newcomers will enjoy the witty dialogue and endearing characters.
