Black 20 is a story about how one neuroscientist struggles with her own mental anguish as she tries to function and help her patients. It is clear almost from the beginning that Catherine is losing the battle against her neuroses. Time after time she struggles with diagnosis of treatments. It is almost certain that Catherine will fail. However, no one knows her inner strength and determination to succeed as a neuroscientist. She is willing to try harder and harder again and again.
