In the first episode of Black Mirror Season 2, "Be Right Back," we meet Martha and Ash, a couple living in a picturesque rural home. However, their idyllic life is shattered when Ash dies suddenly in a car crash.

Devastated and in mourning, Martha is introduced to a new technology that claims to be able to recreate a version of Ash using his social media presence and online history. Initially skeptical, Martha decides to give it a try, creating a digital version of her husband that can communicate with her through texts and phone calls.

As time goes on, the digital Ash becomes more and more sophisticated, eventually leading Martha to explore the possibility of creating a physical version of her deceased husband using a fully-realized android replica.

Desperate for any semblance of the man she loved, Martha becomes increasingly consumed with creating and caring for the android "Ash" in the rural home where they once lived together. However, as the line between human and technology blurs, Martha is forced to confront the true nature of the "Ash" she has created and the consequences of her obsession.

"Be Right Back" explores themes of grief, loss, and the impact of technology on our humanity. The episode raises questions about the ethical implications of creating lifelike replicants and the emotional impact of interacting with simulated loved ones. As with most Black Mirror episodes, "Be Right Back" leaves the viewer with a sobering reminder of the dangers of technological progress and a bleak outlook on the future of our relationship with artificial intelligence.
