Ep 9. Sky Is the New Black

The reality television series Black Ink Crew chronicles the tattoo artists at the Black Ink shop located in Harlem, New York City. In season 3 episode 9, titled "Sky Is the New Black," tensions are high as the crew prepares for a major event.

The episode begins with Ceaser, the owner of Black Ink, announcing that the shop will be participating in a major tattoo convention. All of the artists are excited, except for Sky who is feeling left out because she was not invited to participate in the event. Sky has been with the shop since the beginning, but she has a history of causing drama and getting into arguments with her coworkers. The other artists feel that Sky is not professional enough to represent Black Ink at the convention.

Meanwhile, Dutchess, one of the shop's tattoo artists, gets a surprise visit from her mother. Dutchess has a strained relationship with her mother, who was absent for much of her childhood. Her mother expresses regret for not being there for Dutchess and apologizes for the pain she caused her daughter. Although deeply emotional, Dutchess is appreciative of the visit and feels like she's made progress in mending her relationship with her mother.

Back at the shop, tensions between Sky and the other artists continue to escalate. Sky feels like she's being excluded from important events and decisions and takes her frustration out on her coworkers. She gets into an argument with Donna, another artist at the shop, that turns physical. Ceaser intervenes and sends Sky home, frustrated that she's causing so much drama.

The episode also features a number of fascinating tattoos, as usual. O'S**t, another artist at Black Ink, gives a client an intricate sleeve tattoo of a lion. The client is impressed with the end result and says that it's even better than he imagined. The shop's newest artist, Puma, creates a tribute tattoo for a client's family member who passed away. The tattoo features a portrait of the deceased with angel wings and crosses. The client is moved to tears when she sees the tattoo for the first time.

As the episode comes to a close, tensions between Sky and the rest of the crew are still high. It remains to be seen whether Sky will be able to work out her issues with her coworkers and participate in the upcoming convention. With plenty of drama, emotional moments, and impressive tattoos on display, "Sky Is the New Black" is another entertaining episode of Black Ink Crew that fans of the show won't want to miss.
