In the season 3 episode 2 of Black Ink Crew titled "Extra Baggage," tensions run high as the crew continues to deal with the aftermath of Ceaser firing Puma. In an effort to move forward, Ceaser hires new staff member Donna, but not everyone is thrilled about her arrival. Ted and Sky are tasked with training Donna, but their doubts about her abilities become apparent.
Meanwhile, Dutchess goes to therapy to deal with her trust issues and past traumas. She opens up about her childhood and shares how it has affected her relationships as an adult. The other members of the crew show their support for Dutchess and encourage her to continue seeking help.
Alex, O'S**t, and Walt team up to work on their own tattoo project outside of the shop, hoping to prove their worth as artists. However, things turn sour when their client requests a design that none of them are familiar with. This creates tension between the friends as they struggle to meet the client's demands.
Later, the crew attends a party for Bae's pregnancy announcement. Everyone is excited for Bae, but Ceaser becomes upset when he finds out that Puma has also been invited. The two men have a heated exchange, and it becomes clear that there is still unresolved tension between them.
As the episode comes to a close, tensions remain high within the group. With new staff members and unresolved conflicts, it is unclear how the crew will navigate the obstacles that lie ahead.
