In season 6 episode 4 of Black Ink Crew: Chicago, titled "Second City, Welcome Kitty," the crew is still dealing with the aftermath of their explosive fight at the wedding expo. Charmaine is hopeful that she can smooth things over with her business partner Jessica, but when they sit down to talk, things quickly go left. Meanwhile, Kitty, a former member of Black Ink Crew: New York, makes her way to Chicago to join the crew at 9MAG.
The episode begins with Charmaine feeling a bit apprehensive about meeting with Jessica. After the fight at the wedding expo, they haven't spoken, and Charmaine is worried that they won't be able to work together anymore. Jessica is also feeling pretty upset and betrayed by what happened, but Charmaine is determined to make things right. When they sit down to talk, however, it becomes clear that a lot of damage has been done. Jessica is still hurt and angry, and Charmaine struggles to find the right words to make things better.
Meanwhile, at 9MAG, Kitty arrives in town to start her new job. She's excited to be working at a new shop and to be part of a new crew. The other members of 9MAG are pretty welcoming to her, but they're also cautious. They know that Kitty has a reputation for stirring up drama, and they don't want that kind of energy disrupting their shop. Nonetheless, they're happy to have a new member on board and are willing to give her a chance.
As the episode goes on, tensions rise at 9MAG as they prepare for an art show. There's a lot of pressure to get things just right, and not everyone is pulling their weight. Ryan is feeling particularly stressed out, and he ends up snapping at everyone. Charmaine tries to mediate things, but it's clear that everyone is on edge. The art show ends up going well, but it's a reminder that the crew needs to work together better if they're going to continue to be successful.
Throughout the episode, we see snippets of what's been going on in the personal lives of the various crew members. Don is still struggling with his sobriety, but he's trying to stay positive. Phor is dealing with the fallout of his recent break-up, and he's having a hard time moving on. Van, on the other hand, seems to be in a good place. He's happy with his wife and kids, and he feels like he's finally getting his life together.
Overall, "Second City, Welcome Kitty" is a pretty typical episode of Black Ink Crew: Chicago. There's a lot of drama and tension, but there are also moments of camaraderie and support. The addition of Kitty adds a new element to the show, and it will be interesting to see how she fits into the dynamics of the crew. As always, there are plenty of personal struggles to deal with, but the focus remains on the relationships between the members of 9MAG.
