In the second episode of the fourth season of Big Love, entitled "The Greater Good," the Henricksons continue to navigate the complicated relationships within their polygamous family. Bill, Barb, Nicki, and Margene find themselves at odds with each other as they try to balance their personal desires with the demands of their religion and their community.
As Bill campaigns for political office, he must confront some uncomfortable truths about his past. Meanwhile, Barb struggles with her role in the family and her desire for independence, Nicki deals with the aftermath of her controversial actions in the previous season, and Margene pursues her dreams of starting her own business.
The family also faces external threats as they deal with the fallout of their community's growing conflict with the mainstream Mormon Church.
