Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce Season 6 Episode 2 - Booty Poppin Potatoes
On this episode of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, we see Freedia and the team getting ready for the annual Bayou Classic football game in New Orleans. Known for its high stakes rivalry between the Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars, the Bayou Classic brings together fans, musicians, and performers from all over the country.
As the Queen of Bounce, Freedia is called upon to perform at various events throughout the weekend, and she's excited to get started. But first, she's got to make sure her performance is on point. So she heads to the studio to work on a new song called "Booty Poppin Potatoes".
Freedia explains that she got the inspiration for the song from her love of food and her love of twerking. She teamed up with local chef, Isaac Toups, to create a unique twist on a classic Cajun dish - the loaded potato. Together they whip up a batch of potato skins that are filled with bacon, cheese, and jalapenos - all the ingredients to get your booty poppin'.
After taste testing the potato skins and perfecting the new dance moves, Freedia heads off to her first event - a performance at the Bayou Classic Fan Fest. With her dancers in tow, Freedia takes the stage and starts the party with her signature, high-energy bounce beats.
As the day goes on, we see more of the team getting caught up in the excitement of the Bayou Classic. While on location at the football game, Freedia and her crew run into Big Boy Records mogul, Jazze Pha. Jazze is in town for the game and decides to drop by to say hi.
After catching up and reminiscing about past events, Jazze tells Freedia that he's interested in making some music together. Freedia is thrilled at the opportunity and starts brainstorming ideas for a collaboration.
As the weekend comes to a close, Freedia reflects on the importance of events like the Bayou Classic for New Orleans culture and for the bounce music scene. She's grateful for the opportunities to perform and connect with fans, while also being able to showcase the unique food and music culture of the city.
Overall, this episode of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce is a fun and upbeat look at the excitement and energy of the Bayou Classic weekend. It's a great showcase of Freedia's talent and love for her hometown, as well as her dedication to her craft and her fans.
