Samantha and Darrin have a disagreement on whether or not to let Tabitha go trick-or-treating for Halloween. Darrin thinks it's too dangerous, but Samantha argues that it's an important childhood experience. In an effort to convince Darrin, Samantha uses her magic to transform their yard into a Halloween wonderland. However, Darrin is not impressed and remains adamant about not letting Tabitha go out.
Meanwhile, Endora wants to teach Darrin a lesson for not embracing the supernatural world, so she enlists the help of her sister, Hagatha. Together, they concoct a plan to scare Darrin into changing his mind about Halloween. They conjure up a terrifying witch that will haunt Darrin until he agrees to let Tabitha go trick-or-treating.
At the same time, Tabitha is determined to go out for Halloween and enlists the help of her nanny, Glynis. Together, they come up with a plan to sneak out and go trick-or-treating behind Samantha and Darrin's backs. However, their plan is foiled when they encounter the terrifying witch conjured up by Endora and Hagatha.
