Samantha's Wedding Present is the first episode of the fifth season of the classic TV show Bewitched. The episode introduces viewers to Samantha and Darrin's newlywed life as they return from their honeymoon in Hawaii. As soon as they arrive back home, Samantha is greeted with good news: her wedding gift from Aunt Clara has arrived.
Excited to know what she received, Samantha opens the gift, only to find out that Aunt Clara has given her and Darrin a beautiful antique clock that was owned by Ben Franklin. Though she loves the clock, Samantha is soon to find out that it has special magical powers from which she must be careful.
As Samantha experiments with her new wedding present, she discovers that turning the clock's hands back in time can alter events from the past. This leads to a series of hilarious consequences which Samantha must fix, while also keeping her magic a secret from Darrin's family and avoiding any unwanted attention from the nosy Gladys Kravitz.
Meanwhile, Darrin is busy with work, trying to secure a new account for his advertising agency with a difficult client. The stress and pressure of work, combined with Samantha's magical stunts, puts Darrin on edge, leaving Samantha to fix the problems on her own.
As the episode progresses, Samantha accidentally turns the clock back to an era when Ben Franklin was still alive and meets him in person. While she is thrilled to meet her hero, she quickly realizes that his enthusiasm for the future could lead to a disastrous alteration of the timeline.
Samantha must then use her magical powers to bring Ben Franklin back to his era and fix the timeline. In doing so, she saves Darrin's account with the difficult client and earns a newfound respect from her husband.
Overall, Samantha's Wedding Present is a fun and whimsical episode of Bewitched that showcases the show's unique blend of comedy, romance, and supernatural intrigue. It's a great introduction to the show's fifth season and an excellent example of why Bewitched continues to be loved and remembered by fans today.
