The episode starts with Brenda and Dylan discussing their spring break plans and Dylan reveals that he is going to Mexico with his dad. Brenda is disappointed as she already turned down a trip with her parents thinking that they'll be spending the break in South America. When she discovers that her parents are actually going to Palm Springs, she invites Kelly, Steve, David, Donna, and Andrea along.
Upon reaching Palm Springs, they check into a luxurious hotel where they meet a group of college guys who invite them to a party. The group hesitates, but Brenda convinces them to go, thinking it'll be fun. At the party, Brenda gets drunk and starts dancing with one of the guys, leading to a fight with Dylan when he shows up unexpectedly.
