In the second episode of season 4 of Better Call Saul, titled "Breathe," we see Jimmy (AKA Saul) struggling to adjust to his new life as a salesman at a cell phone store. Although he's determined to get his law license back and start practicing again, he's finding it difficult to keep up his enthusiasm for the mundane job.
Meanwhile, we see Mike in a tense standoff with a group of German engineers who are working on Gus Fring's new underground meth lab. Despite Gus's insistence that everything is going smoothly, Mike senses that something's not quite right. As tensions escalate between the Germans and the other workers, Mike must use his skills to keep the situation from boiling over.
Back in the world of Jimmy/Saul, we also see the continuing fallout from his betrayal of his brother Chuck. While he tries to put on a brave face and act like his brother's death hasn't affected him, we can see that the guilt is eating away at him. When a potential client at the cell phone store recognizes him from his TV ads, he's forced to confront the fact that his public persona is built on a lie.
Overall, "Breathe" is a tense and introspective episode that highlights the complicated emotional landscape of the show's main characters. As they all struggle to keep up appearances and move forward with their lives, we see the deep wounds they're all nursing just below the surface. While the episode doesn't offer any major plot twists or surprises, it's a solid entry in the season that sets the stage for what's to come.
