Ep 18. Tombstone of Flames
- February 10, 1998
Guts and his companions have found themselves in the desert in search of a rumored city of riches. However, they quickly discover that they are not alone in this quest. A fearsome group of bandits known as The Black Dog Knights is also on the hunt for the city.
As they make their way through the unforgiving terrain, Guts' group comes across a graveyard of sorts - a tombstone-laden wasteland full of the remains of those who have tried and failed to find the city. But as they explore the area, they are suddenly attacked by a group of undead warriors who have risen from their graves.
In the midst of the chaos, Guts is separated from his companions and forced to face the undead alone. As he battles his way through the horde, he finds himself becoming increasingly agitated and aggressive, fueled by a dark energy that seems to be emanating from the tombstones themselves.
Meanwhile, his companions have their own battles to face. Farnese and Serpico, in particular, find themselves facing off against a terrifying opponent - a knight clad in burning armor, who seems to have been summoned by the dark power in the graveyard.
As the battles rage on, it becomes clear that they are not just fighting physical enemies, but also dark forces that are manipulating them from within. Guts, in particular, is struggling to hold onto his sanity as he tries to fight off the shadowy influence that seems to be consuming him.
In the end, it's up to Guts and his companions to not only defeat their physical enemies but also the dark power that is controlling them. But as they make their way deeper into the city of riches, it becomes clear that the danger is far from over.
Filled with intense battles, dark magic, and a creeping sense of dread, "Tombstone of Flames" is a gripping episode of Berserk that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. As the story continues to unfold, it becomes clear that the true enemy may not be a physical adversary, but something much more insidious and terrifying.
