In this episode, titled "Portrait of Yesterday," we see Detective Sergeant Jim Bergerac tasked with the investigation of an art forgery ring operating on the island of Jersey. Bergerac is called in after a suspicious painting is found in an auction house, and upon further investigation, it becomes clear that there are several fake paintings circulating around the island.
Bergerac teams up with art expert Catherine Lenoir to try and track down the forgers responsible. They soon discover that one of the forgers is a well-respected local artist, and the case becomes more complex as they try to figure out who is at the head of the ring.
As Bergerac digs deeper, he starts to uncover a web of deceit that goes back decades and involves some of Jersey's most prominent families. Meanwhile, he is also dealing with personal issues, as his ex-wife has returned to the island and is causing trouble for him.
As the investigation heats up, Bergerac must navigate the murky world of art forgery while dealing with his own personal demons. Will he be able to solve the case and put an end to the forgery ring, or will the truth remain hidden in the shadows of the past? Tune in to find out.
