In season 6 episode 3 of the hit British sitcom Benidorm, the sun-soaked Costa Blanca is the setting for yet another hilarious misadventure. Led by the flamboyant and fabulously dressed Joyce Temple-Savage (played by Sherrie Hewson), the guests of the Solana Resort are back for another season of sun, sea, and sass.
Episode 3 sees the arrival of a new guest at the resort - Sheron's mother, Loretta. Played by the acclaimed actress Kate Fitzgerald, Loretta is an imposing figure who wastes no time in making her presence felt. She quickly clashes with many of the other characters, including Joyce, whose hospitality skills are put to the test.
Meanwhile, Mateo (played by Jake Canuso) the bar manager is thrown into a quandary when an old flame named Melanie (played by Crissy Rock) turns up unexpectedly. Melanie is determined to rekindle their romance, but Mateo is not so sure. He confides in his colleague Lesley (played by Tim Healy), who is struggling with his own relationship issues.
As always, the guests at the Solana Resort find themselves embroiled in a series of mishaps and comedic situations. The eccentric cross-dressing Kenneth (played by Tony Maudsley) is on hand to provide plenty of laughs, as is the hapless Neville (played by Johnny Vegas), who is still trying to win back his estranged wife.
As the day wears on, tensions rise and tempers fray. The arrival of a fire inspector threatens to derail Joyce's plans for the resort, while Sheron (played by Julie Graham) and Billy (played by Steve Edge) find themselves at odds with each other. Can the guests of the Solana Resort find a way to overcome their differences?
With its irreverent humour and larger-than-life characters, Benidorm continues to be a firm favourite with audiences around the world. Season 6 episode 3 is no exception, delivering plenty of laughs and surprises along the way.
