Gary and Martin, two middle-aged friends, embark on a holiday adventure to Benidorm, a popular tourist destination in Spain. In this episode, they arrive at the Solana hotel, a lively and colorful place that seems perfect for their vacation. However, things don't go as planned when they discover that they've been given a room with bunk beds and a view of the car park.
Meanwhile, a new group of guests arrive at the Solana, including the Garveys, a dysfunctional family led by Mick Garvey, a loud and boisterous man who's on a mission to have a good time. Mick's wife, Janice, is a strict and controlling woman who's determined to keep everyone in line, including their teenage daughter, Chantelle, and her friend, Michael.
As the guests settle in, they're introduced to the hotel staff, including Manageress Joyce Temple-Savage, a no-nonsense woman who takes her job very seriously. Joyce is aided by her assistant, Les/Lesley, a quirky and flamboyant man who's always eager to please, and Mateo, a handsome and charming bartender who quickly becomes popular with the guests.
The day starts off with a bang when Mick Garvey accidentally knocks over a table in the restaurant, causing chaos and hilarity. From there, the guests split off into various activities, with Gary and Martin exploring the town and getting into trouble, while Mick and his family take part in a poolside quiz hosted by singer Asa Elliott.
Other notable guests at the Solana include Sheron and Billy, a couple who are on the verge of divorce but trying to make one last effort to save their marriage, and Jacqueline, a glamorous woman who's looking for love and attention.
The episode is filled with laughs, drama, and romance, as the guests navigate their way through the ups and downs of their holiday. From Mick's attempts to win a dance competition to Gary and Martin's hilarious misadventures in the town center, there's never a dull moment in Benidorm.
Overall, Benidorm season 1 episode 3 is a fun and light-hearted romp through a wacky and colorful holiday destination. Whether you're a fan of comedy, drama, or romance, there's something for everyone in this entertaining episode.
