Ep 1. The Royal Picnic / Gaston The Ladybird

Meanwhile, in Gaston The Ladybird, viewers are introduced to Gaston's side of the story. The episode begins with Gaston waking up to find himself covered in spots. Believing that he has caught a cold, Gaston decides to take a rest on a leaf. However, he soon discovers that the leaf is actually a magical fairy boat belonging to Ben and his friend Fairy Cowslip. The two children invite Gaston for a ride, but he is too tired to join them and instead decides to take a nap.

While Gaston is sleeping, he is visited by a group of ladybirds who are searching for their queen. They mistake Gaston for the queen and ask him to lead them to their new home. Gaston agrees, but quickly realizes that he is in over his head when the other ladybirds begin to question his leadership skills. Things go from bad to worse when Gaston leads the group into a spider's web, and he is eventually rescued by Ben and Holly.
