As the name suggest, the Below Deck episode 5 of season 2 is titled "Bitchy Resting Face". The episode kicks off with Captain Lee demanding the crew to get things underway and raise the anchors, but with Adrienne and Sam bickering with their interns, he is left frustrated. Things seem to be going well with the charter guests, a group comprised of three couples, as they are enjoying some beach time.
The crew is excited about the prospects of the water sports, but while four of them head back to the yacht to get the equipment, Kat stays behind to flirt with one of the guests. The crew is disappointed, especially Eddie, who had a thing for Kat. When they return to the yacht, the crew finds that Sam had invited her mom to visit, and she had managed to get herself locked in her room. Eddie and CJ have to break down the door to get her out.
The episode then turns to the guests, who request a beach dinner. The crew obliges and starts setting it up. Everything seems to be going well until the guests complain that the service is slow, and the food is taking too long. Meanwhile, the crew is enduring one of the worst bugs bugs they have ever seen and they skin quickly starts to itch with tiny red bites coming up all over their bodies.
Back on the yacht, Sam seems to be taking the making of breakfast hard, and Kat is beside herself when she is woken up by the other interns singing. Then an unexpected event interrupts their busy day, one of the crew falls ill to a contagious illness. Adrienne and Kat step out of the room to talk, and the latter reveals to her boss that she had feelings for Eddie, but he's been nothing but cold to her.
Later that evening, the crew has to undergo some emergency drills for fire, and they got through it without any hiccups. But as the day comes to an end, tensions on the yacht are beginning to boil. Everyone seems to be on edge, and the crew members seem to be at each other's throats. Even Captain Lee can see that the crew is in a tough situation and tries to calm everyone down.
The guests board the yacht, and things seem to be back on track. However, as the crew finishes up the night's events and retires to bed, the tension still lingers. It seems like everyone is holding a grudge against each other, and no one wants to be the one to let down their guard.
