As the second season of Being Human (UK) progresses, the supernatural trio of Mitchell, George, and Annie continue to navigate the complexities of their existence as a vampire, werewolf, and ghost, respectively. Episode 2, titled "Serve God, Love Me and Mend," delves into the aftermath of Annie's return from purgatory and the ghosts she brought back with her.

The episode opens with Mitchell struggling to control his bloodlust as he feeds on hospital blood bags. Meanwhile, George is grappling with the changes in his relationship with Nina, who is now pregnant with his child. Annie, on the other hand, is still coming to terms with the trauma of being stuck in purgatory for years.

Their lives are further complicated when a new ghost, Lia (played by Lacey Turner), appears and reveals that she is the reason Annie was able to escape purgatory. She asks for Annie's help in confronting her ex-boyfriend, who she claims drove her to suicide. However, when Annie and the others try to intervene, they learn that there is more to Lia's story than meets the eye.

The episode also explores the theme of forgiveness, as the main characters all struggle with forgiving themselves and others for past mistakes. Mitchell is haunted by his past as a violent and bloodthirsty vampire, and feels guilty for the harm he has caused to others. George is still struggling to accept that he is a werewolf, and grapples with the guilt of hurting people when he transforms. Annie is guilt-ridden over her previous betrayal of Mitchell, as well as her role in Lia's death.

As the episode comes to a close, the trio must come to terms with their own inner demons as they confront the truth about Lia's death. The emotional weight of the episode is carried by the exceptional performances of the cast, particularly Turner as the tragic and complex Lia.

Overall, "Serve God, Love Me and Mend" is a standout episode in the series, offering a deeper exploration of the characters' motivations and struggles while also introducing new and intriguing plot twists. Fans of the show will not be disappointed by this emotional and thought-provoking installment.
