Beavis and Butt-Head season 4 episode 10 titled "Water Safety" revolves around the duo's weekend getaway to Lake Tardicaca. The episode begins with the two boys trying to impress two girls by claiming to be great swimmers. However, when they get in the water, they immediately struggle and nearly drown. They are saved by a lifeguard who scolds them for not knowing basic water safety.
Feeling embarrassed, Beavis and Butt-Head decide to take a water safety course at the lake. The course is taught by an intense and drill-sergeant-like instructor who appears to take pleasure in humiliating the boys. Throughout the course, they struggle to understand and perform the various safety techniques, such as using a life jacket and treading water.
Eventually, the instructor takes the boys out on a boat to practice a rescue scenario. However, when he jumps in the water pretending to need rescue, the boys are too afraid to save him and instead steer the boat around in circles. The instructor finally gives up on them and leaves them stranded on the lake.
As night falls, the boys stumble upon a creepy island and decide to make camp there for the night. However, they soon realize that the island is infested with ticks and they spend the night frantically trying to remove them from their bodies.
The episode ends with Beavis and Butt-Head returning home, still traumatized from their weekend at the lake. They attempt to share their newfound knowledge of water safety with their classmates, but no one pays attention. The episode ultimately highlights the boys' incompetence and lack of common sense, as well as their willingness to put themselves in dangerous situations without understanding the risks.
