In season 9 episode 3 of Beat Bobby Flay, titled "Challah At Your Boy!", two pastry chefs, Chef Aarthi Sampath and Chef Gregory Torrech, compete to see who will advance to the ultimate showdown against celebrity chef Bobby Flay. The secret ingredient is challah bread, a traditional Jewish braided bread made with eggs that is commonly enjoyed during holidays and festivals.
Chef Aarthi Sampath, the winner of "Chef Wanted", is a self-taught pastry chef who specializes in blending Indian and French flavors to create unique desserts. She is determined to prove herself as a worthy competitor and take down the Iron Chef. Meanwhile, Chef Gregory Torrech is a pastry chef at a high-end restaurant in New Jersey, who has worked in some of the best kitchens around the world. He is confident in his ability to create delicious desserts using the secret ingredient.
As the clock ticks down, both chefs work tirelessly to create their signature dishes. Chef Aarthi leans into her Indian heritage and creates a cardamom and saffron infused challah bread pudding with pistachio crumble and rose macerated berries. On the other hand, Chef Gregory takes a more traditional approach and prepares a cinnamon roll bread pudding with bourbon maple caramel sauce and candied bacon.
Judges Scott Conant and Jessie Sheehan are blown away by the creativity and flavors of both dishes. They taste the dishes and give their honest feedback, but one chef emerges as the clear winner and advances to the next round.
In the final round, Bobby Flay challenges the winning chef to create a dish using their secret ingredient of choice. Can the pastry chef beat Bobby Flay and take home the title of champion? Find out in this exciting episode of Beat Bobby Flay.
