Ep 8. Girl Meets Flay

Girl Meets Flay is the eighth episode of the 29th season of Beat Bobby Flay. In this episode, two female chefs, skilled in their respective cuisines, compete against each other with hopes of eventually taking on celebrity chef Bobby Flay in a cooking showdown. The first contender is Chef Lacey Lou, originally from Canada and with over a decade of experience as a chef. Chef Lacey's culinary style is rooted in her Canadian roots, which she merges with her love for southern cuisine.

On the other hand, the second contender, Chef Nish Nush, is a native New Yorker with Lebanese roots. Chef Nish is the owner of a popular Tribeca-based eatery, where she serves her signature Mediterranean cuisine. She is an experienced chef who has lived and worked around the world, honing her craft and building her flavor profile.

Before they can take on Bobby, judges Scott Conant and Alex Guarnaschelli will have to taste and evaluate the two chef's creations. The chefs will have 20 minutes to prepare their signature dishes that showcase their respective styles and culinary cultures. Chef Lacey's specialty is a shepherd's pie poutine, which is inspired by Quebec poutine, a traditional Canadian dish similar to fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. Chef Nish, on the other hand, prepares a Lebanese kebab plate with cauliflower rice.

Both chefs get to work, utilizing their finely tuned techniques and exotic spices to create dishes that are savory and bursting with flavor. As the timer winds down, the chefs make final adjustments and present their dishes to the judges.
