In Beachfront Bargain Hunt season 4 episode 2, titled "A Tropical Nest," viewers are taken on a journey to Islamorada, Florida, where husband and wife team Matt and Emily are looking for their dream beachfront property. The couple, who are originally from Illinois, have been coming to the area for years and have decided that they want to make it their permanent home.
The episode begins with a tour of the couple's current home, where they explain their desire for a place that is closer to the water and has a more tropical feel. Emily even describes her ideal home as a "tropical nest." With a budget of $550,000, the couple hopes to find a property that is not only affordable but also ticks all of their boxes.
The first property that their real estate agent, Sabrina, takes them to see is a small condo with lots of potential. However, the couple quickly discovers that it is in need of a total renovation and would require a significant investment of time and money. While they love the location, they ultimately decide that this property isn't the right fit for them and move on to the next one.
The second property that Sabrina shows the couple is a newly renovated, two-bedroom condo in a gated community. The property has breathtaking views of both the ocean and the bay and has a spacious balcony that would be perfect for entertaining. Although the condo is at the top of their budget, Matt and Emily can't help but fall in love with it and decide to seriously consider making an offer.
However, Sabrina takes the couple to one final property that may change their minds. This property is a charming, old-school Florida Keys home that's situated right on the water. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house has a quaint, shabby-chic charm that the couple finds irresistible. They love the idea of being able to walk right out to the sandy beach and watch the sunsets every night.
After much deliberation, Matt and Emily have to make a difficult decision. Although the condo has all of the modern amenities that they are looking for, they can't pass up the charm and character of the beachfront home. The couple decides to make an offer on the Florida Keys property, and after some negotiation, they are able to secure the house for under their budget.
Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse of the beautiful town of Islamorada and the stunning properties that are available for those looking for a beachfront bargain. Matt and Emily's journey reminds us that sometimes finding your dream home can be a challenging, but ultimately rewarding experience.
