Ep 10. Shopping For A Surfside Deal

Sarah is a surfing enthusiast who's on Summer vacation and looking for a new beachfront home that won't break the bank. She's teamed up with real estate agent, Laurie, to scour the shores of the Florida Gulf Coast for the perfect surfside deal. Sarah's set a budget of $275,000 and hopes to find a home within walking distance to the ocean, with at least two bedrooms and plenty of space for her and her family to entertain.

Their first stop is a cozy 2-bedroom condo located on the ground floor. Priced within Sarah's budget at $240,000, this home boasts updated finishes and fixtures. Laurie shows her the spacious living area, open conceit kitchen, and luxurious master bathroom. Plus there's a community pool to enjoy as well. Sarah loves the property until Laurie points out that the home does not have direct ocean views - a dealbreaker for the avid surfer.

Next, they visit a two-bedroom townhome located in a waterfront community with access to the ocean via a boat dock. Priced at $269,000, the home features an expansive living room, a newly renovated kitchen with granite countertops, and updated appliances. The master bedroom and guest room are located upstairs, offering much needed privacy for family members or guests. While the property packs a lot of punch, Sarah is hesitant about its remote location and the lack of waves in the area.

The third and final visit is a two-bedroom townhome directly across from the ocean. This property is the most expensive home on Sarah's list, priced at $290,000. It has unbeatable views of the Gulf of Mexico as well as a private patio and outdoor shower perfect for after a day in the surf. The townhome also has a fully equipped kitchen, updated master bathroom, and a bonus loft space. This home checks all of Sarah's boxes, but the price tag could be well over her budget.

After visiting all three properties, the decision isn't an easy one for Sarah. She's torn between the cheaper property without ocean views, the spacious townhome in a waterfront community, and the direct ocean-view townhome, which is slightly above budget. Ultimately she decides on the townhome with direct ocean views.
