Ep 7. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

In Baywatch season 7 episode 7, titled "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," the gang at Baywatch gets a surprise visit from Summer's parents, played by real-life husband and wife team, Timothy Busfield and Melissa Gilbert. Summer's conservative, wealthy parents are no strangers to the finer things in life, and they're not impressed with their daughter's career choice of being a lifeguard.

Summer's parents, who are both attorneys, have never visited her in California, and they're horrified when they see Summer's apartment, that she shares with CJ. Summer's parents quickly discover that Baywatch is not the type of place they're accustomed to.

Summer's mom is particularly disapproving of her daughter's lifestyle and the people she's surrounded herself with. Meanwhile, Summer's dad tries to keep the peace and enjoy his visit to Southern California by going along with whatever is happening around him.

As Summer's parents become more comfortable with their surroundings, they begin to get to know the Baywatch team and are exposed to the various situations they deal with on a daily basis. But, when a crisis happens, Summer's parents begin to understand her daughter's passion for helping people as a lifeguard.

The episode also focuses on the budding romance between Hobie and his new girlfriend Heather. However, when Heather expresses her concern about the age difference between her and Hobie, he becomes conflicted about their relationship.

Throughout the episode, we see the Baywatch team working together to rescue individuals from rip currents and other dangerous situations.

In the end, Summer's parents leave with a new found respect for their daughter's chosen profession. Hobie also comes to the realization that age doesn't necessarily determine the love you have for someone.
