Sky Rider, the fifth episode of the fourth season of Baywatch, picks up with the lifeguards enjoying a day off, engaging in various leisure activities including snorkeling and surfing. All seems peaceful until Mitch, the head lifeguard, stumbles upon a paraglider hanging from the parachute, stranded and injured in the water. Mitch and his team quickly spring into action to rescue the victim and bring him ashore.
As the team tries to figure out what led to the accident, they discover that the paragliding company responsible for the victim is run by an old buddy of Cody, one of the lifeguards. Cody is quickly conflicted, wanting to give his friend and the company the benefit of the doubt but knowing that the situation has turned darker than they initially assumed.
Simultaneously, Caroline, another lifeguard, is rekindling a romance with an old flame. However, when he falls off a jet-ski and almost drowns, she begins to consider whether she's willing to put everything aside to be with someone who's always putting himself in dangerous situations.
Things come to a head when another paraglider is discovered floating in the water, also injured. Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, Mitch and Cody launch an investigation into the paragliding company and the circumstances surrounding the accidents. What they discover is an unsavory operation, with their friend at its core. The team works together to bring the company to justice, and Cody is forced to confront some conflicting feelings about loyalty and doing what's right.
Sky Rider is an episode packed full of action and drama. It highlights the importance of being cautious in potentially dangerous situations, as well as loyalty and ethics in the workplace. It's a reminder that even the most trusted of organizations can be hiding dark secrets beneath the surface, and that it's important to always remain vigilant.
