The episode "Risk to Death" of Baywatch Hawaii season 1 follows the lifeguards as they face new challenges and dangers on the beach.
The episode begins with Sean, Kekoa, and J.D. on a rescue mission to save two people caught in a riptide. They successfully save the individuals, but Sean is bothered when he realizes how close they were to losing their lives. Meanwhile, Dawn and Kai begin their lifeguard training program with Shauni, who is visiting from California. During their training, they witness a surfer in danger and must put their skills to the test as they rescue him.
Later, the team is shocked when they discover that a recent drowning victim had been drinking before swimming in the ocean. They realize that alcohol is becoming a bigger problem on the beach and that they need to take action to prevent future incidents. As they investigate the situation, they discover that a local bar is hosting a wet t-shirt contest that encourages heavy drinking.
Sean and Kekoa go undercover at the bar to gather evidence, but their cover is blown when Kekoa is forced to enter the wet t-shirt contest. The situation quickly turns dangerous as the bar patrons become hostile towards the lifeguards and a brawl breaks out. Despite the chaos, Sean and Kekoa are able to get the evidence they need to shut down the contest and prevent further risk to beachgoers.
Meanwhile, Dawn is struggling with personal issues as she deals with the aftermath of a traumatic event from her past. She opens up to Shauni, who offers her support and encouragement. Through their conversations, Dawn is able to find the strength to confront her fears and move forward.
The episode ends with the team reflecting on the day's events and the importance of their work as lifeguards. They are reminded that even the smallest of actions can have a big impact on the safety of beachgoers, and that they must always be vigilant and prepared for any situation that may arise.
