Ep 5. Battling the Kids' Rooms

In Battle on the Beach season 1 episode 5, titled "Battling the Kids' Rooms," the three remaining teams are faced with the challenge of transforming children's bedrooms. Each team is assigned a different age group: infants, toddlers, and teenagers. The teams are judged on functionality, creativity, and most importantly, appeal to the children.

The competition begins with a trip to a local children's store, where the teams are given a budget to purchase items for their rooms. They are then given a limited amount of time to complete their designs before the judging takes place.

Team Tidewater, made up of exes Tarek and Christina, choose to design the infant room. They decide to create a gender-neutral nursery, which is a challenge considering they do not know the gender of the baby. They opt for a white and gray color scheme with pops of yellow and green. Tarek constructs a unique crib using reclaimed wood, while Christina focuses on organizing the small space efficiently. The judges are impressed with their attention to detail and the fact that the room can grow with the child.

Team California, made up of siblings Eddie and Kelsey, are assigned the toddler room. They decide to create a whimsical space inspired by the beach. Kelsey hand-paints a beach mural on the wall, while Eddie constructs a custom sandbox built into the bed. They also add a reading nook and plenty of toy storage. The judges are thrilled with the design, but question the safety aspects of the sandbox-bed combo.

Team Jersey Shore, made up of best friends Martha and Alex, design the teenage room. They decide to create a chic and trendy room inspired by New York City. They opt for a black and white color scheme with pops of neon pink. Martha sews custom bedding and curtains, while Alex constructs a custom loft bed with a built-in wardrobe underneath. The judges appreciate their efforts, but think the room is too mature for the assigned age group.

In the end, one team is crowned the winner and two are sent home. The competition heats up as the final two teams prepare for the grand finale.
