Batman season 1 episode 17, titled "True or False-Face," begins with a new criminal mastermind, False-Face, wreaking havoc in Gotham city. After getting away with the robbery of a valuable diamond, False-Face becomes even more daring by leaving clues for Batman to follow.
Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne's philanthropy work leads him to donate a new computer system to the Gotham City Police Department. However, False-Face hacks the computer system and threatens to reveal confidential information unless the police comply with his demands. Commissioner Gordon seeks Batman's help to catch False-Face and retrieve the stolen information.
With the help of police sergeant and computer expert Barbara Gordon (who is also Commissioner Gordon's daughter), Batman hacks into False-Face's computer system to track his location. This leads him to False-Face's hideout, where a battle between the two ensues. False-Face uses his ability to disguise himself as Batman, causing chaos and confusion. However, the real Batman ultimately prevails and captures False-Face.
In the end, Commissioner Gordon thanks Bruce Wayne for his donation and Batman for catching the criminal mastermind. However, Batman realizes that False-Face's true identity remains a mystery, adding to the already suspenseful story. "True or False-Face" is a thrilling episode filled with action, suspense, and a hint of mystery, making it a must-watch for any Batman fan.
