Batman: The Brave and The Bold season 2 episode 18, titled "Emperor Joker!", is another adventure for the caped crusader who is once again forced to confront a powerful villain. This time around, Batman finds himself up against the Joker, who has been granted god-like powers by Mr. Mxyzptlk.
In this episode, the Joker has transformed Gotham City into a twisted version of itself, complete with a giant statue of his own likeness towering over the skyline. Everything seems to have gone completely haywire, and it doesn't take long for Batman to realize that his old enemy has taken control of the entire universe.
As the episode unfolds, we see Batman explore different alternate realities, each one more bizarre and disorienting than the last. In one reality, he's a mild-mannered reporter named Bruce Wayne, while in another he's a member of the Joker's own criminal gang. The whole time, Batman is searching for a way to stop the Joker and restore order to the universe.
Along the way, Batman encounters a number of familiar faces, including Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Bat-Mite. Together, they work to plan a strategy to defeat the Joker and save the universe from utter destruction.
One interesting aspect of this episode is the way it portrays the Joker. In most Batman stories, the Joker is portrayed as a chaotic force of nature, always disrupting the status quo in unpredictable ways. But in "Emperor Joker!", he's been given almost unlimited power, and we see how he would use that power if he actually had it. As the ruler of the universe, the Joker is still chaotic, but he's also highly organized and calculated in his evil deeds.
As usual, the animation and voice acting in this episode is top-notch. Kevin Conroy returns as the voice of Batman, and Mark Hamill once again provides a chilling performance as the Joker. The rest of the voice cast is equally impressive, with actors like Diedrich Bader, John DiMaggio, and James Arnold Taylor all doing great work.
Overall, "Emperor Joker!" is a great episode for fans of Batman or just superheroes in general. It's packed with action, adventure, and humor, and it features a classic hero/villain dynamic that's always fun to watch. So if you're looking for a great animated series to binge-watch, Batman: The Brave and The Bold is definitely worth checking out, and this particular episode is a highlight of the series.
