Batman: The Animated Series season 1 episode 5 is titled "Feat Of Clay, Part II". The episode continues where the last one left off with Matt Hagen getting plastic surgery and being reconstructed by Roland Daggett's men. Matt Hagen, who has now become a malleable creature able to change his appearance to match any person or object that he chooses, believes he can become the perfect man and earn fame by becoming the finest art in Gotham City.
Batman, with the help of Lucius Fox, uses a special frequency light to stop Matt Hagen from transforming. They succeed, but Matt Hagen is on the run and hiding from Daggett. Hagen gets in touch with Bruce Wayne at the Wayne Foundation, hoping to get help from them. Bruce offers to provide him with all the medical help he needs while Batman searches for evidence that can put Daggett away for good.
Meanwhile, Daggett has hired a hitman to eliminate Hagen, but Batman foils his plans. With nowhere to turn, Hagen confronts Daggett. Daggett tries to take advantage of Hagen's powers to bring down Wayne Enterprises, but Hagen decides to turn against Daggett and save Bruce. Hagen participates in capturing Daggett, and Batman ultimately secures the evidence he needs to put Daggett behind bars.
The episode ends with Hagen continuing his medical treatment until he's cured, even rejecting Bruce's offer to help him further. He vows to start a new life without Daggett's influence and walks away into the night.
Overall, Batman: The Animated Series season 1 episode 5 "Feat Of Clay, Part II" is a thrilling episode that explores themes of identity, the limits of science, and the consequences of greed. It continues the show's tradition of excellent storytelling, high production value, and deep character development. It's a must-watch for any fan of the Batman character and a great addition to the show's first season.
