Bar Rescue season 6 episode 13, titled "Shamrocks and Shenanigans," follows Jon Taffer as he heads to Las Vegas to rescue a failing Irish pub called O'Booze. The bar is struggling to attract customers and has a host of problems, including a lack of leadership, dirty conditions, and an unfunny stand-up comedy show that is driving customers away.
When Taffer arrives, he discovers that the bar is managed by three owners who are all related, but who have very different visions for the business. The eldest owner, Joe, is stuck in his ways and resistant to change, while his younger brother, Sean, is more open to new ideas but lacks the experience to run the business. The third owner, Sean's wife, Jackie, is caught in the middle and struggles to find her place in the business.
Taffer immediately notices that the bar is dirty and poorly lit, with outdated décor and unappetizing food. The bartenders are slow and sloppy, and the kitchen is disorganized and unsanitary. The stand-up comedy show is also a major problem, with an unfunny host and amateurish performers. Taffer believes that the bar needs a complete overhaul if it is to attract new customers and turn a profit.
Taffer starts his rescue by introducing the owners to his expert team, including Chef Jason Santos, mixologist Lisamarie Joyce, and comedian Vic Henley. Together, they begin to revamp the bar's menu, décor, and marketing strategy. They redesign the bar's logo and create a new advertising campaign that emphasizes the bar's Irish heritage and fun atmosphere. They also overhaul the menu, introducing new dishes that are more upscale and appetizing.
In the kitchen, Chef Santos teaches the staff how to prepare the new menu items, while also implementing a strict cleaning and sanitation routine. Lisamarie Joyce works with the bartenders to create new specialty cocktails that are both delicious and visually appealing. Vic Henley helps the stand-up comics improve their material and delivery, ensuring that the comedy show is a hit with customers.
As the week progresses, tensions arise between the owners, with Joe resistant to the changes and Sean struggling to assert himself as a leader. Taffer must referee these disputes and remind the owners that they are all in this together. He also brings in outside customers and industry experts to offer feedback on the bar's new look and menu, and to help generate buzz in the local community.
In the end, Taffer and his team reveal the bar's new look and menu to the owners and the customers. The results are impressive, with the bar's revenue increasing significantly and the owners finally working together as a team. Taffer leaves O'Booze with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that he has helped save another struggling bar from going under.
