Ep 27. Drunk and Dirty Dolls
- November 3, 2013
Bar Rescue season 3 episode 27 titled "Drunk and Dirty Dolls" follows renowned bar expert Jon Taffer as he visits Gil & Girty's, a sports bar in Ontario, California. The bar's owner, Nick, has been struggling to keep the establishment afloat due to its poor reputation and low revenue. The bar is known for its messy atmosphere and scantily-clad servers, who are referred to as "Dirty Dolls."
Upon arriving at the bar, Taffer is immediately struck by its disorganized and unclean appearance. He notices that the kitchen is dirty and that the bar's employees are poorly trained. He also observes that the servers' revealing uniforms are in poor taste and detract from the bar's overall atmosphere.
As he begins to assess the situation, Taffer realizes that the bar's problems run deeper than its appearance. He learns that Nick is an absentee owner who has been struggling to manage the finances and operations of the bar. He also discovers that the bar's employees are unhappy and unmotivated, due to the lack of structure and support from their employer.
To improve the bar, Taffer enlists the help of his team, including chef Brian Duffy, mixologist Mia Mastroianni, and body language expert Michael Feniger. Together, they work to rebrand the bar, creating a new logo and name, and revamp the menu and drink offerings.
Taffer takes a hard stance against the bar's "Dirty Dolls" concept, insisting that the servers dress in more appropriate attire that doesn't objectify them. He also implements a strict training regimen for the employees, helping them to become more professional and better at their jobs.
Throughout the episode, Taffer faces resistance from Nick and some of the bar's staff, who are reluctant to embrace the changes. However, with persistence and firm direction, Taffer manages to win them over and help them see the value of the changes he is making.
As the episode progresses, Taffer puts the finishing touches on the bar's renovation, setting up a soft opening for a select group of guests. The bar's new name and look are well-received, and the new menu and drink offerings are a hit.
In the end, Taffer celebrates the successful transformation of Gil & Girty's, which is now known as The Arena Sports Grill. He leaves the bar in the hands of a grateful Nick, who is reinvigorated and ready to move forward with his new and improved establishment.
