In season 3 episode 14 of Bar Rescue, titled "There's No Crying in the Bar Business," renowned bar consultant Jon Taffer visits the Greenfield Pub in Lancaster, California. The pub is owned by a couple named George and Patty, who are struggling to keep their business afloat.
Upon arriving at the Greenfield Pub, Jon immediately notices that the bar is outdated and lacks any sort of atmosphere. The decor is old-fashioned, and the drinks menu is limited. Additionally, the staff is unprofessional and untrained, leading to poor customer service.
Jon meets with George and Patty to discuss their business model and the issues they are facing. He tells them that they need to update their decor and expand their drink options. In addition, he advises them to train their staff and enforce stricter rules and procedures.
To help with the pub's redesign, Jon brings in a team of experts who transform the space into a more modern and inviting atmosphere. They repaint the walls, add new lighting, and install a new sound system. They also update the drink menu and introduce new signature cocktails.
Jon also works with the staff to improve their customer service skills. He teaches them how to properly pour drinks, engage with customers, and handle difficult situations.
Throughout the episode, tensions rise between George, Patty, and their staff. They struggle to adapt to the changes that Jon is implementing and fight against his advice. However, with Jon's tough love and guidance, they eventually come around and begin to see the benefits of his intervention.
In the end, the Greenfield Pub is transformed into a thriving business with happy customers and a motivated staff. George and Patty are grateful for Jon's help and are excited for the future of their bar.
