Ep 38. Behind the Mask of Masquerade

Masquerade's true identity is one of the biggest mysteries in the Bakugan Battle Brawlers world. In the season 1 episode 38, titled "Behind the Mask of Masquerade," the brawlers finally get to uncover the truth as they chase after Masquerade's minions across the city.

The episode starts with an intense fight between the brawlers and Masquerade's henchmen. The latter group is trying to steal a valuable artifact from the city, and the brawlers are hot on their heels. During the fight, the brawlers manage to corner one of Masquerade's minions and demand answers.

The minion reveals that Masquerade's identity is not known even to them. They only communicate through a masked messenger that delivers orders and instructions. However, the minion does admit that Masquerade's goal is to become the most powerful brawler in the world, and he will stop at nothing to achieve that.

The brawlers realize that they need to get to Masquerade's mysterious messenger if they want to uncover his true identity. They split up and search the city for any clues. Shun and Alice, two members of the brawlers' team, manage to track down the messenger in a secluded alleyway. They confront him and demand to know who's behind the mask.

The masked messenger responds by challenging the two to a bakugan battle, promising to reveal Masquerade's identity if they win. Shun and Alice accept the challenge and the battle begins. The messenger proves to be a powerful adversary, but the brawlers manage to come out on top and unmask him.

To their surprise, the messenger turns out to be Masquerade's twin sister, Alice's long-lost friend, and fellow brawler, Runo. Runo reveals that Masquerade's true identity is that of her own brother, Michael. Michael started off as a happy-go-lucky boy who loved playing the game of bakugan, but he became obsessed with power and winning at all costs. He started to use bakugan with greater power and began to create a persona of Masquerade.

Runo mentions that Michael believes that the only way to obtain true power is by crushing everyone else's power. Worried that Michael has lost himself in the game, Runo decides to help the brawlers take him down. They devise a plan together to lure Masquerade to an abandoned warehouse for one final showdown.

The brawlers prepare for the ultimate battle as Masquerade arrives, ready to fight. The battle is intense and dramatic, with both sides dealing out some serious damage. However, in the end, the brawlers manage to come out on top. Michael is shocked and humiliated by his defeat. As his allies abandon him and reality sets in, he finally removes his mask to reveal his true face.

The episode ends with Michael walking away in defeat, his once-powerful persona of Masquerade shattered. The brawlers walk away in triumph, having uncovered the mystery of Masquerade and saved the city from his dangerous ambitions.
