Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts is a unique anime that stands out in the genre of school comedies. The show aired from 2010-2011, and is produced by FUNimation Entertainment. It is based on a light novel series written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Yui Haga. The anime takes place in a high school called Fumizuki Academy where students are divided into classes based on their academic abilities. The higher the academic score, the better the classroom and equipment they get, resulting in Class A having the best equipment in the school, and Class F being the lowest with old, run-down furniture.

The story follows the class F students, specifically a young boy named Akihisa Yoshii, who is known to be the biggest idiot in the school. Akihisa and his friends, the equally dimwitted Yuuji Sakamoto and the perverted Kouta Tsuchiya, have a crush on a girl named Mizuki Himeji, who is in Class A. When Mizuki suddenly falls ill and misses her exams, she is placed in Class F along with Akihisa's group. They decide to band together and try to raise their scores to escape the lowest class and get better equipment.

During their journey, they discover a unique ability that the school has which allows students to summon avatars of themselves to battle. These avatars are powered by the students' test scores, and the stronger the scores, the more powerful the avatar. This creates a unique conflict between classes, where they can challenge each other to battles to swap classrooms and equipment.

The show is a hilarious, laugh-out-loud comedy that has a unique twist with battles mixed into the classroom hierarchy. The humor is witty and engaging, with a lot of physical comedy mixed in. The voice acting by Jamie Marchi (as Mizuki), Brina Palencia (as Akihisa), and Josh Grelle (as Yuuji) is top-notch, creating memorable scenes that stay with you long after the show has ended.

Furthermore, the animation and art style of the show are bright, vibrant, and playful, with some of the most unique avatar designs that have ever been seen in anime. The character designs are adorable and charming, creating an atmosphere that is both light-hearted and heart-warming.

The show has eleven episodes, and each episode is about twenty-five minutes long, making it an easy watch. Despite the light-hearted nature of the show, it does tackle some serious issues such as bullying, acceptance, and the power of friendship. This adds an extra layer of substance to the already enjoyable series.

Overall, Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts is a hilarious and entertaining anime that is perfect for anyone searching for a lighthearted comedy. The unique twist on school hierarchy and battles will keep you hooked, and the engaging characters and memorable moments will make you fall in love with the series. Give it a try, and you won't be disappointed.

Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts is a series that ran for 2 seasons (34 episodes) between January 6, 2010 and on FUNimation
