Babel II is an anime series that was first introduced in 2001. The show is an adaptation of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's famous "Babel II" manga. Babel II is a sci-fi action series that follows the story of a young man named Kouichi and his companions who are constantly faced with the task of saving the world.
The story is set in a world where the advancement of technology has enabled humans to reach incredible heights, including the discovery of other dimensions beyond our known universe. These dimensions are known as "Altars," and they contain incredibly powerful beings that have the potential to wreak havoc on Earth.
Kouichi has inherited the power to control the Altars from his father, who was a master of the craft. With this newfound power, Kouichi sets out on a mission to protect the planet from any threats that may arise from the Altars.
The show begins with a glimpse into Kouichi's past, where we see the death of his father and his subsequent entry into the world of the Altars. As he sets out on his journey, he finds himself constantly pitted against foes who want to obtain his power for their own malicious purposes.
Through his encounters, Kouichi becomes friends with various beings, including the beautiful robot girl, Juju, and the dark being, Lucifon. Each of these characters brings their unique strengths to the table and helps Kouichi in his fight against evil.
The character development in Babel II is excellent. Throughout the series, we see Kouichi grow and develop into a stronger individual, both physically and emotionally. His journey is not an easy one, as he faces various trials and tribulations that test his abilities and his character.
The action scenes are a huge highlight of the show. The animation is fluid and detailed, making the fight scenes a joy to watch. The battles are intense and exciting, and the various abilities and powers on display keep things interesting.
The voice acting is also top-notch. Karen Strassman, Dave Wittenberg, and Kenichi Suzumura all deliver fantastic performances that bring the characters to life. The emotional range of the cast is excellent, and they all do a great job of conveying their characters' emotions.
One of the show's most remarkable aspects is the music. The soundtrack is composed by Yoshiki Hayashi, the drummer of the legendary Japanese rock band, X Japan. The music is epic and perfectly complements the action scenes, raising the stakes and making the battles even more intense.
Overall, Babel II is an excellent sci-fi action anime that has everything you could want from the genre. The characters are well-developed, the action is intense, and the music is fantastic. The show has a lot of heart, and it's clear that the creators put a lot of effort into making it a memorable experience for the viewer. If you're a fan of sci-fi action or just anime in general, Babel II is definitely worth a watch.
